Porsche Carrera Cup Test
Having recently tested a Mosler, Freddy's track experience is gradually developing more and more. Tuesday 22nd March saw the Porsche Carrera Cup GB fraternity head to Snetterton for the pre-season media/test day, which Freddy was a part of.
Still looking at various options for the 2011 season, the youngtser was able to test the Parr Motorsport Pro-AM 1 Porsche Carrera Cup car, which proved to be a successful outing.
Freddy spent the first hour of the test breaking in the new Porsche machine, and also finding his feet on the new Snetterton layout in an unfamiliar car. Sharing the tarmac with other drivers who have raced in the championship for a number of seasons gave Freddy some tough competition, however he was soon showing his pace as the day progressed. The 22 year old finished the day with the fourth fastest time in the Pro-AM 1 class.
Looking back over the experience Freddy said: "It was a good day out in the Porsche, I was pleased with the times by the end of the day and it was a good opportunity to get behind the wheel of it.
"I started the day on the back foot a bit compared to everyone else, but once we got the car broken we were able to secure some good track time."
Commenting on the new Snetterton track layout Freddy added: "The layout is certainly different, but it was a good experience to be able to sample it before the start of the season."

Freddy tests the Mosler
With the start of the season in sight it's the time of year when racing drivers get a bit twitchy, eager
to get back behind the wheel. For Freddy this feeling was not an unusual one. But on Friday 11th March 2011, he was able to feed his need for speed, when he was given the opportunity to test the impressive Mosler car, courtesy of sportscar legend Martin Short.
Commenting on the test, Freddy said: "I want to say a massive thank you to Martin for the opportunity to test the Mosler. It really is an amazing car, and to be able to drive it around Silverstone was a great honour. I've definitely got a taste for it now."
It's all been about change recently for Freddy, with an enhanced helmet design for 2011 as well. Everyone at Freddy Nordstrom Racing is working extremely hard to ensure the youngster is on the grid for the first green lights of the season. Which grid he will be sat on remains to be seen, but he is sure to be hitting the tarmac soon. As ever we will keep you updated on all of the progress.
