Night Vision In Albacete

Freddy had a solid weekend at the fourth round of the SEAT Leon Supercopa which took place at Albacete. Of all the new circuits to Freddy this year, Albacete came with quite a reputation as a car killer that often attracts some high octane racing. The reputation was well deserved!  That said Freddy put in some good times to finish 15th, 22nd and 17th in an event which boasted another huge grid. Testing times had been very favourable so Freddy was a little disappointed not to be higher up the board but as always in this series  the racing was testy. The weather also proved tricky, flitting between warm and dry then pouring with rain!

The weekend did provide some wonderful experience in a different form of racing. The final race of the weekend was held at night, making this Freddy's first night race.

"It was a great experience" he reflected afterwards. "It's amazing how your perception and the feel of racing changes in the dark. It was great fun and i look forward to more night racing in the future.

All Set For Albacete!

Freddy heads to Albacete this coming weekend for the 4th round of the 2009 SEAT Leon Supercopa.

The Albacate circuit opened in 1990 and is notoriously twisty over just 2.2 miles. So, expect close and frantic racing in the triple header event which, as usual, comprises two sprint races and a feature race. What is different for this round is all three races are held on the Saturday. Race 3 will be a night race which is sure to add another dimension to the racing. The weather forecast for next weekend is fine and warm.
